Welcome back Rebecca Hudson as this year's swimming lesson leader. Here is an introduction from her:

My name is Rebecca Hudson formally Lambdin. My mom and dad are Mark and Vickye Lambdin, prior manager of our pool. As a San Marcos native, my husband and I moved back to the area two years ago. We have a daughter, Camyle, who is 1 yr. old. I grew up swimming at Country Estate with Coach Golson. I was on the San Marcos High School swim team as well as the club team for the city. During collage, I was a lifeguard and swim instructor. I love teaching and working with kids. Currently, I am an online international English Teacher with VIP KID and the Critter’s Teacher at Wonderland School. I have taught swimming, skiing, skating and English. This summer, I will coordinate the swimming lessons for CERA.   I aim to provide a safe, happy and fun learning environment. I have taught swimming lesson for over ten years. Swimming has been a part of my entire life. I love it and want to share it with others. Safety is one of my top priorities. I ask all parents’ support of their children following all of the pool rules. We will have three levels of classes. Private lesson are available, contact me directly with inquires. This is going to be a great summer. See you soon.

I have provided a review for beginners and Intermediate expectations from my classes, they are towards the bottom of this page;

The Beginner Level

Students need to be potty trained to enroll. Potty training is at different age depending on child. In my opinion, four years of age is the best time to put a child in group swimming lessons. The expectation for this class is LEARNING to SWIM. Learning to swim can be fun. We use games and toys to help support the process. Ideally the “Doggy Paddle” is what we want to accomplish. This class is forty five minute of “in water “time and allow ten minute for transition. Total time is fifty five minute. Optimum size of class is six.  NO MONDAY CLASS

Intermediate Level

Students need to know how to swim, on their own for at least ten yards. The expectation in this class is to learn the three basic strokes: Freestyle, Breast and Back. This is NOT Red Cross, but we will do many skills acknowledged by the Red Cross Organization.   This is a one hour class, optimum class size is eight.

Beginner and Intermediate levels need kick-board and goggles. It’s always good to have sunscreen on the student about ten minutes before class. Please have students use the bathroom before class. The last day of class we will have a small party with snacks, drinks, and other food items that will be needed. Please contact me if you can help.
